Christian Outreach Centre House of Prayer are so called because Jesus said that His house would be known as a ‘House of Prayer’. Jesus is building His church and in His house are many mansions. We are just one expression of His life in the towns we serve, and together with the other parts of the building we long to see a habitation of God established. We love Jesus Christ with a passion, and eagerly look for His Spirit to move and transform people’s lives into His glorious image.

What we believe:

1. Jesus Christ is Lord, the Creator of the Universe. He was born of the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, demonstrated the Father’s love to His creation, died on a cross as our substitute, destroying the power of sin, sickness and poverty, and was raised again from the dead to sit at the right hand of God. He will soon return to judge the world and fully establish His everlasting Kingdom. Jesus Christ is today our Saviour, Provider, Healer and Lord.

2. We believe in God, His Word as recorded in the Bible, and in the supernatural work of His Spirit in the earth today.

3. God’s relation with His Creation:
a. The Jews
God’s chosen and covenant people, originally called to walk with Him and represent Him to the nations. Their personal value to the Father, prophetic significance in the end-times, and their present regathering to their homeland before the return of the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua H’amshiach (Jesus Christ).
b. The Church
In its various expressions, as the supernatural organic expression of Jesus in the earth today, declaring His love and power in word and demonstration of the Spirit, with every member playing their part.
c. The Nations
God’s great love for the world at large, and His desire that none perish but come to a knowledge of the truth. The final judgement of all men, whatever their background, according to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Creative Expressions of Worship
As a Body of Believers we aim to express our love for God in as many ways as possible. Hebrews 1:1 says that God speaks in many different ways at different times – His wisdom is many sided. As such, we want people to be free to express themselves openly and creatively through movement, music, art, poetry – giving God glory through freedom and creativity.

Disciples making disciples

Jesus actively trained His followers in godliness. We also aim to hand on to others what God has given to us. A culture of responsibility and accountability means that everyone is receiving and also giving to someone else. The scriptures say that under the New Covenant of the Spirit all Believers are ministers to God and to one another.

Preaching and Power

The supernatural demonstration of God’s power and the bold preaching of His Word in private and in public are highly valued in our fellowship. We know that the gospel is God’s power to set people free, so preach it unashamedly.

House Churches and small group ministry

Christian Outreach Centre House of Prayer believes in small group ministry, and often meet in homes for church meetings based upon the model revealed in the Book of Acts where ministry took place ‘in the temple’ and from ‘house to house’. The relational aspect of small groups, with open and honest communication, and the opportunity for wider and more frequent use of the gifts on people’s lives, led us to place high priority on structures that would allow these values to be worked out in a practical way.

Reaching out to those who do not yet know Jesus
Jesus gave a clear commission to the church to take His words of life, the gospel, and share it with others. As a Body of people we actively seek to bring others into relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and enthusiastically encourage them to become involved in fellowship with other believers.

Our purpose is twofold – to know God, and to make Him known. If you do not yet know God call or write to us, or send an email, and we will happily speak with you and send you some material that will help you to do just that…
